
Victoria Wieben, LISW, RPT-S

Vicky Wieben is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S), and certified Connected Families parent coach. She received a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Northern Iowa in 2004 and a master’s degree in social work from St. Ambrose University in 2010. She completed additional training, supervision, and clinical hours to receive certification in play therapy in December of 2015 and the additional credential (the "S" in RPT-S) in 2019.

Vicky uses a compassionate, holistic approach and works with adults, children, adolescents, and families. She appreciates each patient as an individual and individualized treatment planning is a priority. Vicky uses a variety of therapeutic modalities including family therapy, parent consultation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy techniques (DBT), Theraplay, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).

Vicky has 20 years of experience in social services with over ten years specializing in clinical work in community-based mental health settings including residential programming, early childhood development, and in outpatient settings. In 2020 she started a private practice clinic, Bright Light Counseling, with her husband Matt, and in 2024 they expanded to include a second clinician.

Outside of the therapy office, Vicky enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. She also enjoys reading and spending time in nature (at the same time whenever possible).
